Banish the gnats!

Warning...may be confrontational 😱

I'm no green thumb but I do like having plants and over several years have been slowly building up a decent collection of indoor and outdoor plants...

...Well outdoor definitely, but the indoor ones you see in the picture, and there's three of them, were banished outside recently.

And it was none other than very annoying little insects which we mistook as fruit flies for several weeks till a good look at these three and some internet search made me realise they had become gnat fests!

Coincidentally, the other day I was having a fantastic coaching conversation with a very senior leader. He was reflecting his experience leading a complex multi-billion dollar project under very challenging circumstances.

And guess what his biggest challenge was?

Dealing with leaders who had the leadership capability of gnats!

Well, that got us both laughing hilariously as I shared our home grown gnat invasion from the three pot plants now firmly banished outdoors.

It is easy to banish plants, but very difficult if not impossible to banish leaders with the brain power of gnats.

I have to get to completely renewing the soil and hopefully flushing out the gnats before they are allowed inside.

Be careful with your pot plants lest you may end up with a gnat fest yourself.

Hope none of us are putting up with gnats...root them out before they take hold!
